CBD Oil for Anxiety

Anxiety affects humans and pets alike. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness affecting 40 million adults in the United States.

Anxiety comes in many forms. Symptoms of anxiety can include incessant worrying, irrational fears, muscle tension, difficulty with digestion, social fears, obsessive behaviors, difficulty sleeping and panic that can feel like a heart attack or cause shortness of breath.

How Can CBD Reduce Anxiety?

To fully understand how CBD oil may help to combat anxiety, we have to start in the brain with the cannabinoid receptors that control mood, stress, emotional behavior, fear, cravings, and irritability. These receptors are CB1, CB2, TRPV1, GP55 and a few others.
When these cannabinoid receptors are activated, studies have shown that blood pressure and heart rate decrease, which then in turn lowers stress levels and the natural reaction to panic in a situation (known as fight-or-flight).
CBD may reduce fight-or-flight responses and also fear-avoidant responses.

How to use CBD Oil for Anxiety?

Implementation

There are many ways to take CBD oil. For human consumption we recommend daily oral ingestion for long-term wellness.

For animals, we recommend oral ingestion twice daily, with a starting dose of 0.1mL per 10 pounds. For example: a 20lb dog would receive 0.2mL in the morning and again at night – about 12 hours apart.

Dosage

If you are taking CBD oil for the first time, follow this dosing regimen formula for 14 days:

A person’s starting dose is 0.5 mL’s taken twice daily 12 hours apart and at least an hour and a half before or after taking any pharmaceutical drugs.
If no change occurs within 14 days, double the starting dose, then hold that dose for three weeks. Make note of any changes/relief.
If within this three-week period change/relief is felt, continue with the same dose for the full three weeks before increasing. Then adjust the dose based on what you feel is appropriate.

Vaping CBD oil may provide more immediate relief from feelings of stress and anxiety as it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream for fastest results. There is no exact dosing that we recommend. Instead, use your CBD oil as often as needed for anxiety.
